A village that feeds itself, since 2006.

A volunteer Board of Management. It juries the vendors, rents the space, sets the fees, collects them and promotes the market. The fees cover the hall, the market manager and the promotion — the market is not here to make money, and keeps only a small reserve.

The Annual General Meeting is open to anyone. It is held in Hall C at the Cumberland Community Centre, overlooking the arena; the next date is posted here and on Facebook.

Because it lets local farmers, food producers and artisans sell directly to the people who live here, and lets community groups — churches, Scouts, clubs — set up beside them.

Four hours a week, one village, everyone in the same place. That is the whole idea.
