Is the market on this Saturday?
Yes, every Saturday from June 6 to October 10, 2026, 9 am to 1 pm. The banner at the top of this site says so each week. Outside those dates there are special markets — a Spring market in May, a Harvest market in September and a Christmas market in December — with their own dates and hours.
What if it rains?
The market runs rain or shine. Outdoor vendors trade under their own weighted tents, and there is an indoor hall in the arena. Only genuinely dangerous weather changes anything, and if it does, we post it here and on Facebook.
Where is it, and where do I park?
1115 Dunning Road, Cumberland — the R.J. Kennedy Arena at the Cumberland Community Centre. Two free lots on site. Vendors park on Market Street, so the lots are for visitors.
What does it cost to get in?
Nothing. Entry is free and so is parking. You only spend money at the tables, and each vendor sets their own prices.
Cash or card?
Most vendors take debit and credit. A few are cash only, and there is no bank machine on site — bringing twenty or forty dollars in cash saves a walk back to the car.
What will I find there?
Around fifty vendors: vegetables, fruit and herbs, meat and eggs, bread and pies, jams and preserves, honey and maple syrup, cut flowers and plants, quilts, pottery, woodwork and soap. Coffee and breakfast, and community groups with tables of their own. What is on the tables changes through the season as Ontario crops come in.
Can I bring children, a stroller, a dog?
Yes to all three. The outdoor rows are flat pavement with room for strollers and wagons. Dogs on leash are welcome outdoors; inside the hall it is service animals only. Washrooms are inside the arena.
Is everything really local?
Yes, and it is checked. Vendors must live or operate within 100 km of Ottawa and sell only what they grew, raised or made. Pre-assembled or commercially made goods are not permitted, a jury reviews every application, and the board can visit a farm or workshop to see how something is produced. Claims like organic or free-range require a valid certificate on display.
How do I become a vendor?
Applications close April 1. Stalls run $45 to $60 a week depending on how many weeks you take, plus a $25 annual admin fee. The vendor page has the full fee table and the handbook.
Who runs the market?
A community-run non-profit, started in 2006 — 2026 is the twentieth season. A volunteer Board of Management sets the rules and the fees, and volunteers set up and take down the market each week. Reach Belinda Joy at 613-806-7559 or Debra Wyatt at 613-833-0284.
